Help for Homeless Families


Building Strong Families
A community partnership with Heart of Florida United Way, Siemer Family Foundation and the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation

The Osceola Council on Aging Building Strong Families program serves low-income families with children, who are at risk for homelessness due to economic crisis. 
The program will help eligible participants to meet the family’s basic needs, and stabilize their children in school. 
In general, eligible participants of the Building Strong Families program may receive access to available services, including:

·       Emergency Utility Assistance
·       Employment Support Services
·       Rent & Mortgage Assistance
·       Health Services
·       Nutrition/Food Assistance
and much more.

ELIGIBILITY

All participants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1.      Must be a resident of Osceola County Florida

2.      Have a household Adjusted Gross Income equal to or less than 200% of the poverty level.

3.      Must have a school-aged child(ren) enrolled in an accredited public, private or parochial school in Osceola County.

4.      Must be at risk for homelessness and/or in an unstable or transient home environment.



PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

1.      Participate in a Case Managed service program.

2.      Complete a Financial Literacy Education class.

3.      Complete a Building Strong Families Treatment Plan.
